Welcoming you to Cardiff!

Visiting Cardiff

Welcome to Cardiff! Croeso i Gaerdydd!

As a small, compact city, Cardiff is easy to get around. We have our lovely Cardiff Castle, nestled in the heart of the city and our surrounding Bute Park. We’re famous for our street arcades with independent shops and bars.  Cardiff is the capital of Wales and Welsh is one of our official languages along with English.

Green Conference

This is a  'green' conference, so we discourage travel from outside of Europe, and we strongly recommend the lowest carbon travel possible. To encourage this, we offer a Low Carbon Prize, to be awarded in the final ceremony.

Cardiff Travel

The conference will be held across two buildings: Cardiff University’s Brain Research and Imaging Centre (CUBRIC) and Hadyn Ellis Building. They are located on Maindy Road, CF24 4HQ

Rail Travel

Cardiff Central Train Station is an easy way to travel into Cardiff and is centrally located to many hotels. The nearest train station to the conference is Cathays being a 10-minute walk away. Trains run between Cardiff Central and Cathays regularly.

Air Travel

Our nearest airports are Cardiff and Bristol Airport. Buses run directly from Bristol Airport to Cardiff – these will need to be pre-booked. Buses also run from the airport to Bristol Train station with transport to Cardiff.

Cardiff Accommodation

There are many hotels, BnB’s and AirBnB’s throughout Cardiff. The university is based in Cathays, a student populated area so most accommodation is located in the Centre of Cardiff ~20-25 minute walk away from the conference.
